My name is Tammy Abarno
I am an qualified and registered social worker with over twenty-five years experience working in social work and social care. I was also a carer to my Nana who had Alzheimer's disease.

I have spent my working life dedicated to social care and I am absolutely passionate about supporting people to live the lives they wish to because of and despite possible difficulties or challenges.

The Full Story
I was always close to my Nana when growing up and it was upsetting seeing her personality change over the years nonetheless she was happy, comfortable and well-loved. At 93 years old she was very close to my 3 year old daughter and my 12 year old son and between me and my mum we looked after our family in the best way we could.
​
My Nana's social worker and occupational therapist were wonderful - they made us feel seen, heard and understood and they helped us as a family ensure the very best quality of life for my nana in her older age.
